$.12 per pack

Yup. You read that right. I paid a total of $.12 per pack (including tax and the cost of coupons)
THIS IS WHY I COUPON SHOP...FOR DEALS LIKE THIS! I got a total of 25 batteries this past week from an amazing Fry's Grocer Deal! Thanks to my sister in law TENILLE who loves me sooooo much (haha) that she shared this deal with me AND ordered us coupons! Yay! So now I have 25 MORE packs of batteries to add to my HUGE battery stockpile. I was laughing cause my heath said in a totally serious tone...that he should make something to hook the batteries up to the house so we can stop using electricity...and just use duracell batteries...he totally got me for a second...he's funny. Love it. This is probably BLUE MOON deal...JUST in TIME for Christmas. :) Yay!

Friday, May 15

CVS Run...

I had another $5 off a $25 purchase coupon---and the pull ups were still on sale---so I HAD to go to CVS while I was in town today...

-$3 coupon
-$2 cvs coupon

2 Planters $2.50 each

Giant Slim Jim $1.29
Couldn't say no to my VERY obedient boy.

-$5 coupon

Paid with
$11 ecb's
$5.24 cash

Pretty good today considering I stocked up on PullUps, peanut for food storage, and scout snacks. Yay. Great use of ecb's.

My Best Deals @ Walmart today

Huge picture if BBQ Sauce - Cost : $0 ... $.98 each - $1 coupons = OVERAGE :)

Checking off some of my food storage list
2 Salt: $.50 each
1 Pasta $1.50 - $1 coupon
2 Pedialyte $5.24 - $2 coupon
(I sware the shelf tag said it was only $4.24. Ugh!)
I added the Pedialyte to my food storage list---thinking of my kiddos---what if during a disaster they have major diarria!? (spelling?) Its totally worth $3.24 a bottle to have a little peace of mind until 5/2011 when they expire. lol.

Kraft Dressing - $1.58 - $1.50 coupon = $.08 WOHOOO!
I also have some $1 coupons but I'm still deciding if $.58 each is still a great deal.
It is right---this is what happens---I get SUPER cheap.
Jello - $.50 each - $1/3 coupon = $.16 each.
We only really have Jello on the 4th of July for a Red, White (cool whip), and Blue dessert. That's why I only ever buy Red and Blue Jello.
So the total for all this stuff was $9.18 + tax. Not bad.
During today's trip to Walmart I used $24 in coupons...crazy...but only felt like posting by Best Deals.
START COUPON SHOPPING! IT'S WORTH IT!

Wednesday, May 6

only paid tax.

Here's more FREE stuff from Walgreens. Colgate: Pd $4.49 each - received $4.50 in RR each. Right Guard: Paid $2.99-$1 coupon - received $2 RR. I used RR to pay for it so very little oop. Like 2 bucks and some change from the bottom of my purse.
Yay.
We ran 4 errands this morning---marathon! Me and my two kiddos: Walgreens for cheap deals, Blockbuster in search for "the penguin movie" for Jacob, P/U Dry Cleaning, and QT for a soda run---refill cup makes it only $1.09 for a 44 oz. drink. Good deals. Then to my mother's to drop off a soda for her too.
My kiddos are so good at running errands with me. I love it. Jacob who's only 3 is so obedient and stays by me (90%) of the time. Yay! And Lexi is pretty good and being yanked in an out at multiple stops, however, she takes her shoes off EVERY TIME we get into the car. Very annoying. lol. But she's so cute. My kids actually like the errands and I'm so grateful for that.
I must have looked CRAZY carrying my 15 month old and two empty soda cups into the gas station with my 3 year old following mama duck around. Love it. We also got a donut this morning----not very good----cari made me do it. j/k. Sad face. When we got to the register I had 2 full cups of soda and a donut bag and Jacob was carrying a soda cup with lemonade---he felt so special with his own soda. lol. The guy ringing us up usually only sees me --- i bet its funny to see me in "mommy mode". All my ducks were in a row and we were happy and doing great. Again, I love that. $3.24.

Note: I decided to limit my internet printed coupons and use the newspaper coupons I already have. I could have saved about $5 more if I had used more internet coupons----but I didn't really want to deal with it----totally out of character for me. Also, I was worried that the cashier would tell me something crazy like 'only 3 internet coupons' or something like that.

Vons Deals 2/4-2/10

Junk food today----but does the toothpaste make up for it?

Kellogg's Pop Tarts 8ct. / Kellogg's Fruit Snacks & other Kellogg's on sale
Use coupon in 1/4 SS $1 off 2.
.50 each

Colgate Toothpaste .99
Use coupon in 1/4 SS .75 off 1 - doubles to $1 off
FREE

Today I picked up:

3 toothpaste = FREE
8 Pop Tarts (limit 8) = $4
2 Fruit Snacks 10pack = $1

$5 + tax

Pretty good for brand name pop tarts and OK toothpaste.

My resale value for toothpaste is $1 per tube----if I sold them it would mean that I got the pop tarts for only $2 + tax. ... just thinking about the bottom line. Yes, I do sell some of the stuff I get for free at garage sales. I love it. The toothpaste and brushes sell really fast for $1 each---I get sooooo many of those for free-----pure profit!

Here's a scenario. Lets just say that we split this up by $ per snack....there's 64 pop tarts & 20 fruit snacks. 84 snacks in all ----that's about .06 per snack. Pretty good. Note: I usually save these types of snacks for treats or road trips. I love that Jacob likes the pop tarts without the frosting - only a teeny bit less sugar but I'll take it!

Warning: When buying anything in bulk----check ALL expiration dates and decide whether or not you'll actually use the items before they expire. When stacking in your pantry make sure to circle expiration dates and/or put the soonest expiring in the front.

Happy Shopping - Julie

$24

I'm really proud of this one....mostly cause its really stuff and I need/want. Its one thing to get free stuff or cheap stuff that you maybe want to try or would give away----but when its stuff you need?! The Tylenol was the only thing I feel like I totally got ripped of on---I paid full price for it....$10.49 (ugh!) Stinkin, I mean POOR Lexi is teething---mommy isn't sleeping---bring on the Tylenol!
I spent $24 for all this....I saved $97 !!!!
For those that just don't have a clue----diapers alone would have cost me between $8-10 per pack! I'm so proud of myself. I ran home to tell my Heath and he gave me a cheesy smile and said cool. That's good enough for me! I'll take it.

With our big move to AZ coming up in 4 weeks---we've really been focusing on budgeting and preparing for a our new adventure. I've researched (mostly family:D thanks) the utility pricing, food costs, approx mileage to shopping, housing costs, insurance, etc....and then there's the OTHER stuff...
Clothing
Baby Needs
Food
Personal Care
blah blah blah...
And I feel so happy to report that these are some of my smallest categories. It feels so nice to know that it IS possible to save 60-70 % on these categories AND stock up for future months at the same time. Yea! I feel like I give my "testimony" on coupon shopping often-----but really, I love it! I had a friend growing up who's mom coupon shopped and I remember thinking SHE'S CRAZY! That's ghetto----or that takes too much time. Yes - it does take lots of my time ----but for those that just don't have the money----MOST of US-----then you better find a way to stretch your buck! Start small...keep track of your savings and you'll be soooooo surprised.
Thanks to all my buddies that love to coupon shop and keep me excited about THE DEALS!

Sunday, January 25

I love Mitchum!

Obsessive about stockpiling....for those that just don't know the trick already...I prefer to buy the items I love when their on sale so I don't have to buy them when I need them and I don't have to pay the dreaded-----FULL PRICE. Yuck. Now---currently I don't stockpile on a lot of items cause its just not the right time for me cause I'm moving----but this time it was just too good to pass up.

This is the only deodorant Heath and I use and it was on sale for the Cheapest I have ever seen it! Woohooo! At Target and Walmart its usually around $3.50. On sale it goes for about $1.99 and this time the sale was $1.66 SWEET! And my friends (yet another way to show their love:) printed me coupons! So between me and my friends I had 18 - $1.00 off coupons. (some deodorants not in the pic----already in use:D)

Only $0.66 each +tax. Now that's a sweet deal.

Wednesday, January 21

I bought 340 items at Michaels!

Now I know what your thinking....what the....? Look at my receipts. HAHAHA. Ok----here's the scoop. The paper was on sale 7/$1 - not the cheapest ever----but a stinkin good deal! Since I'm on this scrapbooking kick right now I decided to take advantage! My wonderful mother gave me a gift card to Michaels for my birthday so I got all this paper for less than $20 out of pocket!! I also purchased a few other items like clearance Christmas embellishments and black letter stickers. The cashier Sheryl was so sweet...I told her that I had a TON of paper to ring up and she totally closed her line just to help me! Thanks :) I lined up the bar codes for her to help the process go a little faster----but it still took at LEAST 20 minutes. NO joke! And who knew.....there's a limit of 200 items per transaction----we figured that one out....lol. Hence the two receipts. Love it. I had my two kids with me and they were absolutely amazing!
**Pat on my back---I said to my boy during the transaction (for like the 3rd time in the store that day), "Jacob, your being such a good boy Thank You!" Then, Sheryl complimented me and said that I was a great mother and that my parenting techniques must be working. smile. "HA----I wish" I responded. Then she said that she saw my boy perk up when I said that, and that he grinned to himself. I kinda wish I had a more grateful response to the cashier but I think she realized that she made me feel good. Note: I complimented Lexi with kisses and "thank you's" at the store too----equality is good.
Side note:
Actually---I try very hard to have positive parenting and I DO feel like its working....yes my boy is absolutely a 44oz bottle of energy-----but that's ok. I actually love it. Almost as much as I love my 44oz diet coke.
Back to the SCRAP----Aren't they so cute...I only got a few duplicates of the stuff I totally loved and would use for more than one layout.

I Stumbled...

I found 2 new blogs that are great! I added them to my Blog List on my sidebar (for those that check out my blog---just to check the other blogs on my Blog List :)

Here's the links:

Mostly I use sites like this to get me inspired to get great deals! I love to look at their stockpiles of food and just imagine my pantry that full!! Its killing me that I can't really stockpile while living at my in-laws until Feb/Mar. My husband probably wouldn't appreciate me having 20 more boxes to move. Lol. Hope you like these sites.

Tripped at Walgreens! Using $5/20 coupon

I broke my stinkin Camera today while I was taking my Walgreen's picture! I'm so angry. Its 3 years old---time to retire anyway----but if it works!!!!??? I dropped my camera then tripped on my Walgreen's stuff and stepped on my camera. Can you freakin believe that?!! The viewing screen is broken. I thought maybe it would still take pictures...but no - the flash goes off - it clicks - but the memory card shows NO picture. Ugh. Halloween is NEXT week! I want to take a million pictures....what am I supposed to do? Buy a throw away? There's NO way I'm buying a new camera with Black Friday sales just around the corner! Arg!
But I did great at Walgreen's! Sorry - no fun without the picture! I had a couple Need Items which totally isn't my favorite thing. Here's the list of items I "purchased" and my total was a MONEY MAKER!
1 - Loreal Wrinkle Concentrate
1 – Loreal Anti-Age ProCalcium
2 - Loreal Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream
2 - Neutra Air Freshmatic Kits
2 - Almay Mascara
1 - Gillette Fusion Power Razor
3 - St. Ives Cleansers
2 - Large Bags M&M’s
2 - 4ct. AAA battery packs
Fillers/Splurges: 2 toy cars, 2 kids plates,
Halloween book, h.coloring book, eyebrow pencil
Total : 8.70 Profit! (+ a couple bucks -10%- for doing rebates)
It would have been more but I accidentally purchased 2 rebate items (limit 1) in the same transaction. Ooop. Oh well. The item was already an amazing deal of .99 ea.
Sweet. I now have $30 Register Rewards and more than I care to admit (or calculate) in Walgreen's Gift Cards $. Lovin this Walgreen's stuff.
Looks like I'm purchasing a little camera with my Walgreen's money. deeeeeep sigh.

Monday, October 20

All becuase I needed diapers...

Here's the goods from my shopping adventures today! I went to CVS and Walgreen's. I usually shop with both my kids and my double stroller - today was a big trip and I'm sure I looked totally ridiculous---but look at my great deals!
List of items:
3 Huggies Supreme
1 Pull-ups
2 Baby Wipes
3 Johnson's Baby Wash
10 Almay Face Wash Bars
3 Theraflu
2 Gillette Fusion Razor
2 AlkaSelzer
14 Excedrin
8 Halloween Lunch Bags
1 Pumpkin Placemat
4 Candy Corn Bags
4 Glow Lights (one not in picture)
2 Powerade
1 Small Bag Doritos (not in picture)
4 Pumpkins
Total Cost: $24.33
That looks like a lot of money. But think about it...
3 packs of diapers on sale for 9.99ea + pull-ups 9.99 = $39.96
The retail value (using the sale prices NOT regular price) is about $140 maybe a little more. If this stuff wasn't on sale----then it would be way more.
At Walgreen's I met a really nice cashier that I now totally love! Her name is Tabitha. Its always refreshing to have a nice and patient cashier that is OK when you save a TON of money and give a TON of coupons. She works in the beauty department so that's a perk too. I hope she's working every time I go :) I gave her my blog address so she can start saving too....I hope she starts coupon sopping, Its been such a blessing in my life and I'd love to share that with others.

Monday, October 13

Computer Ink and ALL this...

All this and a bouncer!
I had an eventful trip today at Walmart. My kids were perfect in the store...but then I had to go back and get the bag I left AFTER I went all the way home...(its totally the cashier's fault. I even asked her if I had all the bags and she said yes - ugh - that's another long story). When I went back Jacob was really mad that we were going to Walmart again. He kept asking me, "Mom!! Donald's or ChickFilA mom? Donald's or ChickFilA?" He kept saying it like he was giving ME the choice. We weren't going anywhere but home. lol. He's happy at the moment. He's eating "butter and jelly sandwich" (pb&j) while he watches his new Thomas the Train Halloween DVD from his Grandpa Avery. (Thanks :) My boy loves trains! He's only had it for like 18 hours and he's already seen it a zillion times.

7 FrizzEase Mousse (t.size)
8 Dove Shampoo&Conditioner (t.size)
7 Jergen's Lotion (t.size)
8 Dove Hairspray (t.size)
1 Gillette Shave Gel (t.size)
1 Gillette Body Wash (8.4oz)
7 Kotex (donation)

The best part:

Apple juice (1.97) - I really need an apple juice sale...this price is killing me!
Bread (.88)
Febreeze Noticables (5.97)
COLOR PRINTER INK (21.97)
Bouncer (1.50) One of the poles is bent, totally fixable! Great deal!

And my total including tax was only $15.38
Crazy huh?! Its like I got everything for Free and the ink for only $15.38!!!

I used $57.50 worth of coupons (41). Yikes. I warned the cashier and she was totally cool about it. I purposely take my kids cause I think they have more sympathy for me. Oh - this poor lady must have to use coupons cause of the economy. AS I PAY FROM MY $324 purse - just kidding! Wish I had a cute purse. I'm still in the diaper bag only phase of my mommyhood.

What am I going to do with all this Travel Size stuff? First of all - if my fam ever needs anything my sisters can shop for FREE at my place :) Also, I think I'm gunna try to sell them for like .25ea or like 5/$1 at a garage sale or something. I dunno. Think they'll sell? It would be pure profit. Love it.

Friday, October 10

Another Trip! Money Maker!!!

This is embarrassing - I almost didn't post this cause I'm addicted this week! The $3/10 coupon that I have is AMAZING and the deals are really good this week :) I can't help myself.
Here's the Totals. No breakdown this time.
Total oop: $8.18 -pd on Walgreen's gift card-
Rebates coming my way: $14 + 10% 1.40 = $15.40
How did I make out: PROFIT of $7.22 Yikes :D
